Give current Health IT economic concerns, what should medical staffs expect to get paid?
How much should a medical receptionist expect to get paid hourly? How about a unit secretary at a hospital? Does having an associates degree in Health Information Technology give you an edge?
Give me some examples from where you are?

It totally depends on where you live. For instance in a city there may be an average wage of up to $18 – $20/ hour.
I would say between $12–$16 an hour but It all depends on where you live .
Like the first comment said- it really varies. At the nursing home where I work they make a little more than CNAs. (maybe $9/hr)- but they don’t require a college degree. But, there are positions (which require experience and education) that pay alot more. Possibly up into the $16/hr range. I would check out temp. and staffing agencies. With an A.A degree I wouldn’t take less than $10/hr starting off.
A medical receptionist generally gets paid about $11.50 per hour.
A unit secretary would command about $30,000 a year.
The bureau of labor statistics (BLS) is the best way to get accurate information on this topic. Wages vary greatly for the same job in different parts of the country. The BLS website would be your best resorce. You can search wage information on there by specific cities and metro areas so you know how much people doing the same job in the same town are earning.
